How to choose a pillow
Sleep position, pillow height and firmness matter more than anything else. Here’s how to narrow it down.
A good pillow keeps your head and neck in line with the rest of your spine while you sleep. The right one for you depends mostly on how you sleep.
1. Start with your sleep position
- Side sleepers need the most height, to fill the gap between the ear and the shoulder.
- Back sleepers need medium height, with support under the curve of the neck.
- Front sleepers need a low pillow, so the head isn’t pushed back.
- If you change position during the night, look for a pillow designed for every position.

2. Get the height right
